Our Team

Nicholas Way – Director

Nicholas has worked as a journalist for more than three decades in Australia and Asia before joining Shed Media in 2006. In that time as a journalist he has covered politics, business, agriculture, industrial relations and Asia, especially Hong Kong and China. For a brief period he worked as a stockbroker in the 1980s. He now provides media counsel to senior executives, companies and fund managers.

Nicholas has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Tasmania.

Simrita Virk – Account Director

Simrita has over 15 years of international experience in consumer and financial services public relations. She began her career with Perfect Relations, one of India’s leading PR firms, as an Account Executive, and later worked with Burson Marsteller at its New Delhi office where she managed an account portfolio of clients including United Colors of Benetton and New York Life Insurance.

Simrita graduated from the University of New Delhi with a Bachelor of History and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from the London School of Public Relations.

Peter White

Peter has more than 30 years of experience of consulting to financial, property and IT firms. He began his media career reporting for the ABC current affairs programs AM and PM before becoming a media adviser to the NSW Government.

Since then he has worked with major financial institutions including a seven-year communications advisory role for Dominguez Barry Samuel Montagu where he helped managed the marketing and communications elements of the transition of the group to the Swiss Banking Corporation.

Abbey Minogue

Abbey previously worked for a not-for-profit as Marketing and Communications Coordinator and in Digital Marketing for a lifestyle agency. She has been responsible for account management, social media campaigns and building successful client relationships across the aviation, agriculture, health and education industries. Abbey joined the Shed Connect team in September 2020. She has a Bachelor of Communications (Public Relations) and is completing her Master of Business Administration at RMIT University.

Matthew Lee

Matthew was employed as an Account Manager at WE Communications Australia (formerly Buchan) from July 2018 until present. He was responsible for managing the day-to-day workflow and media relationships for clients including The Australian Taxation Office, Commonwealth Bank, The Australian Foundation Investment Company, Allianz Insurance, and many other large-cap corporations. Previously he was an account manager at Media & Capital Partners and started his carreer at Shed Connect where he worked from November 2015 to January 2018.

Kristen Assaad

Kristen previously worked for a not-for-profit company as a Social Media & Digital Marketing Coordinator in the radio industry. She has been responsible for managing multiple social media channels, creating website and EDM content, as well as creating social media campaigns. She has also been responsible for collating and reporting on relevant analytics on digital and social media performance. Kristen has a double degree in Commerce and Arts majoring in Marketing and Public Relations from Deakin University.

Our Directors

Sheridan Lee – Director

Sheridan set up Shed Enterprises and Shed Media in 1996 and has over 25 years of experience in PR and marketing in financial services. In 1990 Sheridan left financial journalism and moved into marketing, working with global financial services groups including Swiss Bank (now UBS) and Alliance Capital. She has worked for a number of leading financial services houses in various capacities, including business development and media strategy.

Sheridan holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney.

In late 2019 Sheridan joined forces with Jamie Nemtsas and Drew Meredith as co-directors of Shed Connect. Together they have separately launched The Inside Network. The Inside Network (IN) is a global community of investment professionals, academics, researchers and thought leaders.

Jamie Nemtsas – Director

An experienced business owner and entrepreneur, Jamie has been building businesses in the financial marketplace for over 20 years. With a history in the investment advise industry, he has a Bachelor of Banking and Finance, a Post Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning, is a Certified Financial Planner and an accredited SMSF Specialist Advisor. Building businesses and transforming markets started when Jamie was a junior financial adviser at AMP where he cut his teeth on client experience and business metrics. From there he joined Investstone Wealth Management in 1999, Australia’s first fee-for-service financial advice firm, where he guided the business to substantial growth in a few short years.

Drew Meredith – Director

Drew is one of the original founders of Wattle Partners (a wealth advisory business). He is an experienced financial and investment adviser with expertise in self-managed superannuation funds, superannuation strategies, investment analysis and portfolio construction. Drew has a thirst for knowledge and further education which allows him to provide well-informed, value-adding advice to his clients. Drew is a career financial adviser, having commenced at the Commonwealth Bank in 2004.

Drew has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, a Post Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and is a Certified Financial Planner. He has also taken on the role as a Facilitator of the Kew Discussion Group of the Australian Investors Association. Alongside his work and deep experience in the wealth sector, Drew is a successful business builder and leadership practitioner and provides editorial content to a number of publications as a sought-after thought leader in the financial advice sector.
