The SMSF Association has formed a new partnership with the stockbroking and wealth management firm Morgans Financial Limited to improve professional standards in the SMSF sector.
The Association and Morgans have committed to work together to provide a range of education, training and accreditation offerings on SMSFs for Morgans’ 500 authorised representatives (advisors).
Via membership of the SMSF Association, Morgans advisors will participate in either the SMSF Specialist Advisor (SSA) Pathway program or the SMSF Practitioner (SSP) Pathway program. Other benefits include participation at the SMSF Association National and State Technical conferences.
Morgans is Australia’s largest national full-service retail stockbroking and wealth management firm, with more than 300,000 clients, 500 authorised representatives and 850 staff, operating from 60 offices in all states and territories.
Association Managing Director/CEO Andrea Slattery says: “This is an exciting development for the SMSF sector. Morgans understands the importance of the SMSF market to its business, and is prepared to invest resources to ensure its advisors have the expertise to be able to better service their SMSF clients.
“With the SMSF sector growing rapidly, we believe this agreement is a natural progression for those Morgans advisers wishing to improve their knowledge and professionalism,” she says.
Morgans and the SMSF Association have also agreed to work together on other initiatives that benefit the professionalism of the SMSF sector.
Morgans National Manager, Wealth Management, Terri Loy, says: “We welcome this opportunity to work with the Association to give our advisors the professional programs needed to ensure they can meet all the demands of their SMSF clients.
“We have long identified the SMSF sector as a growth market for our business, so it’s essential our advisors have the specialist knowledge required to meet our clients’ needs.”
